Why BPA-free stainless steel drinking bottles?

Drinking enough water is a simple but effective way to improve the health of your skin. Staying hydrated supports your skin's natural functions, from cell renewal to detoxification, and ensures hydrated, radiant and healthy skin. Drinking enough is a must for your skin, but do it in a healthy way.

What are plasticisers like BPA in drinking bottels?

Plastic bottles can contain harmful chemicals (plasticisers) such as Bisphenol A (BPA), Di-isobutyl phthalate (DIBP) and phthalates, which can slowly dissolve in liquids, especially when exposed to heat or sunlight, such as in a hot car or when cleaning in the dishwasher.

Recent research by the Anti-Toxin Foundation shows that in more than half of the bottles examined, Di-isobutyl phthalate (DIBP) was released just after dishwashing. Before dishwashing, this chemical leaked from only 1 bottle. The study also showed that the concentration of DIBP increased the longer the liquid was in the bottle. Read the full article here.

How harmful are these plasticisers?

Plasticisers BPA and DIBP have been linked to several health problems, including hormonal disturbances and an increased risk of certain (serious) diseases. So it's better to avoid them.

Advantages from an environmental point of view

From an environmental point of view, stainless steel water bottles are a much more sustainable alternative. Switching to reusable stainless steel bottles significantly reduces the use of single-use plastic.

Conclusion

Opting for glass or stainless steel drinking bottles instead of (non-)reusable plastic bottles is a smart choice that benefits both your personal health and the environment. By investing in a stainless steel bottle, you contribute to a more sustainable future and protect yourself from the potential risks of harmful chemicals in plastic. It's a small change with a big impact.
